Vice President: Mark (Fred )Butler

I still actively work with my own company, and we are involved in all facets of property across Australia. Some clients are from overseas, and regular trips to various Asian countries have now recommenced. We moved as a  family to Perth 12 years ago from Melbourne. I started rowing in Melbourne at school, followed by a short career after school at Mercantile Rowing Club.

I then rediscovered rowing at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht, where I am currently the fleet captain while sailing on a Couta boat, mainly in Perth but having ventured to Melbourne and Sydney to race.

I relish any activity that takes place on the water; however, St Ayles provides a great environment to exercise and compete with great friends and great new friends.

I am married with two sons.

I am still a full-time worker as a registered nurse specialising in stroke. However, I look forward to remedying this situation  in coming years when I will dedicate more time and energy to travel, gardening, St Ayles Skiffs, conservation and photography. I don’t mind a spot of fishing or bird watching. Most of the above fit in pretty well together with the odd glass of red wine thrown in. I look forward to engaging with more and more members of the ever-growing St Ayles Skiff community.

Treasurer: Marguerite Porte

I was involved in the build for the very first St Ayles Skiff in Australia. I lay claim to the distinction of being a member of the Tasmanian crew that attended the first ever St Ayles Skiff World Championships in Ullapool in the year 2013, and being awarded a medal (Silver). My interests (along with rowing) include gardening, reading and the work of contemporary Tasmanian artists.
